![]() | Born in Dallas, Texas, I was a city girl down to the bone. So, when I was up rooted in my early teens, and moved to a ranch, I was in completely foreign territory. Attempting to embrace my new surroundings, and humor my parents, I tried my hand at herding cattle and failed. I tried horseback riding and failed. I even tried taking care of baby goats but I failed at that too! I might have been living on a ranch, but I was far from being a country girl! Bored, and not knowing what else to do, I began walking the 125 acre monstrosity. I started to view the world differently; I acquired an appreciation for nature. The rocks, stones, and crystals captivated me. Then, I discovered Swarovski crystal; it took my breath away. I was fascinated by the way light reflected against the many facets of each piece. Being artistic, I needed something that would nurture my creativity. On a whim, I purchased a few stones, and on that same day, I designed my first piece of jewelry. It was truly at this precise moment, that I knew I had found my passion. I began to immerse myself in research, and hone my skill as an artisan. I strove for impeccable quality, both in craftsmanship and in my materials, using semi-precious stones, pearls, precious metals, and of course, Swarovski Crystal. Self taught, I aspired to make each hand crafted piece unique. Inspiration to nurture my imaginative design pallet was everywhere. It was in music, nature, art and in the stones themselves. I enjoyed the whole creative process, the marriage of imagination to reality raw substance to completed form. Today, I have more ideas than I know what to do with. I can’t seem to pull the designs from my sketch book and create the pieces fast enough! I am a firm believer that all things happen for a reason. Many years ago, I was faced with a new and unexpected direction in life. It was the catalyst for many things, least of which was a whispered, childhood passion. It is in this spirit that I create. |
